Chet Schmidt
We proudly refer Chet Schmidt as a medical massage therapist located on the practice premises. Chet is board certified through the Florida Board of Massage Therapy. Chet has been a practicing massage therapist for over 10 years specializing in lymphatic drainage, medical massage, deep tissue, and Swedish relaxation, and has spent the last five of these years mastering the skill of neuromuscular positioning release modality.
From years of therapeutic massage practice, Chet has gained a significant understanding of anatomical and neuromuscular anatomy and has applied this knowledge in both massage and meditational approaches to care and procedures.
Chet is known for his natural and refined approach to a gentle delivery of modalities directed towards positive results for all of his clients. Chet too has a passion for continued advanced education and has completed many advanced courses in specialty approaches to pain alleviation techniques.
A message from the massage therapist:
I became a massage therapist primarily because of my interest in reflexology, seeing how much it helped family members. Then as I went to massage school, I learned much more about the power of touch therapy.
The most rewarding aspect of massage therapy is helping patients feel better through a natural approach, my patients are aware that I work with the tissues in a gentle yet effective manner. I am dedicated and thorough in my approach, seeking the best solution and the most crucial factor in client relationships is trust. The patient can expect me to listen to their health goals and implement the techniques to most effectively achieve those goals within the bounds of my profession, or if unattainable, be honest about expectations and give a referral if indicated.
The most encouraging aspect of my work is the pain relief achieved through massage, my top priority when working with patients is to work with them in a manner that the subconscious perceives as sub-threat and parasympathetic. I am attentive to the cues from the patient, both verbal and from the tissues and am not a proponent of " no pain, no gain"; I believe pain to be a signal of threat to the subconscious and may contribute to a cycle of muscle tension. I am interested in lymph drainage massage and body sculpting techniques.
